Who performs the assessment?
The assessment is performed by specialist clinical neuropsychologists. We have advanced training and experience in understanding the brain, and how thinking and feeling are affected by brain changes.

How is the cognitive assessment done?
We use “question and answer” tests that are sensitive to changes in your thinking skills. These give information on thinking skills and mental abilities such as: learning and memory; attention and concentration; language skills and perception; and control of thinking and behaviour. The psychologist will also ask about your recent feelings (mood) and any positive or negative life events that may have affected you.

Who else can be involved?
The psychologist may ask to see you with a member of your family, or a good friend, to provide a different perspective on any difficulties you are experiencing.
